    Four half-day sessions for mid-level managers

    Overview
    This hands-on, custom-tailored class helps managers get buy-in from staff, bosses, and customers. They also learn to use their writing skills to foster cooperation and receptivity.

    Results?
    Learners write on all topics with ease, speed, and confidence. They also provide good models of successful written communication for their staff.

    Schedule: Four half-day class sessions, presented once every two weeks:

    Session 1: Write direct, customer-friendly email, letters, memos, announcements.

    Session 2: Help your reader skim and remember by controlling passive voice, sentence length, word length, and bullet style. Measure the readability level of your documents.

    Session 3: Create readable, dynamic PowerPoint presentations.

    Session 4: Use advanced brainstorming techniques to write direct, easy-to-read reports. Polish your style with sentence variety.

    The client may add or delete topics to this schedule, depending on the learners' needs. For example, persuasive writing may be more appropriate than PowerPoint presentations.

    Homework and coaching: In between sessions, learners benefit from homework assignments as well as interaction with the instructor by email and telephone.
